HEN-COCK
The Curators
Some believe that
the many sky-piercing mountains of debris were neatly stacked
by a thousand careful interpolations among the disconnected
who operate under the constraints of this strange concept:
1-0-1
To grasp this idea,
one must first acknowledge that though there are
a limitless amount of views to experience…
not all forms we perceive are equal.
1-0-1
Some forms or layouts of forms, with lighting and hue taken into account
evoke a highly personal sensation that accesses latent data.
As the same experience is never had by more than one individual,
it is difficult to quantify, or cross-reference the causal nature
between stimulus and sensation.
Due to their own sensitivity
towards how these processes occurred within themselves,
the curators
came to understand the mechanism at work like a langue.
(if only a langue they uttered privately amongst each other)
They had an eye for the qualities of tangible objects;
what shapes and chroma leant themselves to mood and visual harmony better
in one layout verses another.
With objects they could forge experiences,
by building compositions which could elicit feelings.
In time, they learned to communicate through form fluently,
the vast something other.
1-0-1
Understanding why there was a relation between visual stimulus and feeling
was more or less impossible…
hence they were devoted to exploring it.
Over countless demonstrations, they organized the debris
into many unique collections.
All were expressive in ways
which the other ungrounded interpolations couldn’t yet define for themselves-
yet couldn’t deny the potency of either.
1-0-1
For the logical among them,
this abstract way of thought was misconstrued as rampancy
caused by their severance from ground
and their ever draining power reserves.
As such, curators kept their devoted chore to themselves,
hermits.
1-0-1
Privately, they perpetuate the notion that the ladders into the sky
were built by others who share their ability and desire
to coordinate the things around them.
The impossible mountains stand
as a result of their mastery over balance.
Without balance, the great mountains could not stand.
The curators called this balance DESIGN.
